• provide guidance on moving forwards once the procedure has concluded.

Business Owners, Charities, Line Managers and HR Professionals

Why should I attend?

To be dealt with effectively, it’s vitally important that disciplinary & grievance issues are picked up and managed without delay. Managers who don’t regularly deal with disciplinaries or grievances may be caught off-guard as misconduct or workplace concerns will often arise unexpectedly. This session helps attendees to be prepared and able to conduct an effective disciplinary or grievance process.

What will I learn?

We will explore the issues that commonly amount to “misconduct” or “workplace concerns” to help attendees identify these at an early stage. This will include guidance on the differences of misconduct and gross misconduct and workplace concerns that would trigger the process.

We will then guide attendees through the disciplinary & grievance process from start to finish. This will include a review of the key steps that should be taken into consideration when conducting the investigation, the disciplinary/grievance hearing, and the appeal hearings for both. We’ll highlight potential pitfalls, including properly identifying the allegations and the key evidence required for the constituent parts of each allegation; highlighting examples of when suspension may and may not be appropriate and the key factors to consider; how to prepare for taking statements; and how to ensure your decision letter stands up to criticism.
